      안녕하세요~ 😀 세라 씨는 피아노를 치는 걸 좋해요. (👉Just small correction. 좋아해요) 세라 싸는 피아노를 치는 게 좋아요. (👉 좋아해요 is better than 좋아요 because the subject is the third person. Watch the video about the difference between 좋다 and 좋아하다. If you have any questions, let me know. 📺ruclips.net/video/zYlKMCyhfzg/видео.html) 그리고/ 그렇게 (can I use either of the two?) 피아니스트나 작곡가가 되고 싶어 해요. (👉그리고 is better. Because 그렇게 means 'like that'. For example, 그렇게 하면 안돼, you shouldn't do it like that) 그래서 10년 후에 피아니스트하고 작곡가가 됐어요./ 그래서 10년 후에 피아니스트하고 작곡가가 됐어요. (👉Very good!) 그런데/ 하지만 (which one is better?) 대신 영화배우하고 가수가 됐어요. or should I put the time 그런데/ 하지만 10년 후에 대신 영화배우하고 가수가 됐어요. (👉그런데 sounds better. Because 하지만 is too formal for this sentence. If you want to keep 대신, it sounds more natural to. add the time. So the best one would be 그런데 10년 후에 대한 영화배우하고 가수가 됐어요) 정말 잘하셨어요!! 도움이 됐기를 바래요~ 😀

    안녕하세요 선생님. I tried to practice writing; can you help me correct them? I just want to know if the sentences I made are correct and sound natural. Thank you in advance 선생님. You’re such a blessing for us learner who are self-studying. 1. 머리가 가려우면 긁지 말고 머리를 감으세요. 저는 머리가 가려우면 긁지는 대신에 머리를 감아요. 머리가 가려울 때 안 긁고 머리를 감아요. 머리가 가려울 때 긁거나 감아요. 머리가 가려울 때 긁는지 감는지 몰라요. 머리가 가려우니까 긁을까요, 감을까요? 머리가 가려우면 머리를 긁지 말고 감으세요. 머리가 가려우면 머리를 안 긁고 감아요. 2. 동의하면 고개만 끄덕여면 돼요. 그리고 동의하지 않면 고개를 흔들도 돼요. 의견에 동의를 할 때 고개를 끄덕이에요. 그리고 동의를 하지 않을/안 할 때 고개를 흔들어요. 생각은 같으면 끄덕이면 돼요, 달라면 흔들어도 돼요. 3. 머리를 자른 후에 머리를 빗고 모자를 썼어요. 머리를 잘라서 빗고 모자를 썼어요. 모자를 쓰기 전에 머리를 자르고 빗었어요. 4. 저는 하늘을 보려고 고개를 들어요. 저는 개와 놀려고 고개를 숙여요. 하늘을 보기 위해 고개를 들어요. 개와 놀기 위해 고개를 숙여요. 하늘을 보려면 고개를 들어야 돼요. 개와 놀려면 고개를 숙여야 돼요. 5. 갑자기 두피가 가려워서 머리를 긁었어요. 6. 이슬비가 와서 제 친구가 모자나 우산을 쓰고 나갔어요. 7. 저는 어제 제 긴 곱슬머리를 자르러 미용실에 갔어요. 지금은 짧은 생머리예요. 8. 미나 씨는 머리를 감고 나서 빗어요. 머리카락이/ 머리가 마르면, 장발을 묶을 거예요/ 것입니다. 9. 무엇이 _______ 씨를 얼굴을 찡그리게 해요? 이해가 안 될 때 가끔 얼굴을 찡그려요. 짜증이 날 때 얼굴을 찡그려요. 기분이 안 좋으면 얼굴을 찡그려요. 10. 무엇이 _______ 씨를 웃게 해요? 저는 재미있는 영화를 볼 때 웃어요. 저는 재미있는 이야기를 들으면 웃어요. 저는 재미있는 이야기를 읽을 때 웃어요. 11. 무엇이 _______ 씨를 울게 해요? 저는 영화에서 너무 슬픈 장면을 보면 울어요. 저는 너무 슬플 때 울어요. 저는 심각한 부상일 때 많이 울어요. 아저씨는 영화에서 너무 슬픈 장면을 봤을 때 울었어요. 그 슬픈 영화는 아저씨를 울게 했어요. 12. ____씨 하루에 몇 번 세수하나요? ***저는 보통 하루에 두 번 세수해요. 아침에 일어나서 세수해요. 그리고 밤에도 자기 전에 세수해요. 따듯한 물, 찬 물로 세수해요? 찬 물보다 따듯한 물로 세수하는 것은 기분이 상쾌하고 시원해요. 화장실에서 남동생이 세수하는 동안 저는 이를 닦아요. 13. 무엇이 _______ 씨를 얼굴이 빨개지게 해요? 좋아하는 사람을 보는 것은 얼굴이 빨개져요./좋아하는 사람을 보면 얼굴이 빨개져요. 좋아하는 사람 앞에서 얼굴이 잘 빨개져요. 남들 앞에서 얼굴이 잘 빨개져요. 부끄러워지면 얼굴이 빨개져요./창피하면 얼굴이 빨개져요./실수할 때 창피해서 얼굴이 빨개져요. 화가 났을 때 얼굴이 빨개져요. 너무 비행기를 태우는 것은 얼굴이 빨개져요./ 네가 비행기 태울 때마다 부끄러워. 화가 났을 때 상황에 따라 얼굴이 빨개져요. 그 학생은 실수했으니까 창피해서 얼굴이 빨개졌어요. 그 학생은 실수했기 때문에 창피해서 얼굴이 빨개졌어요. 언니/누나가 비행기를 태웠는데 부끄러워서 얼굴이 빨개졌어요. 언니/누나가 비행기를 태웠을 때 얼굴이 빨개졌어요.

      안녕하세요~ 😀 As there are a lot of sentences, I'll mention the ones that need some changes. 1. 저는 머리가 가려우면 긁지는(👉긁는) 대신에 머리를 감아요. 머리가 가려울 때 긁는지 감는지 몰라요. (I guess…you meant you are not sure what to do. If yes, it's more natural to use the pattern, ㄹ지 모르겠다 👉머리가 가려울 때 긁어야 할지 머리를 감아야 할지 모르겠어요.) 머리가 가려우니까 긁을까요, 감을까요? (니까 is used to express reasons for an action or a state. And ㄹ까요 sounds like a quiz. So if you want to keep the sentence as a question, it's more natural to say 👉머리가 가려우면, 긁어야 할까요, 머리를 감아야 할까요? ) 2. 의견에 동의를 할 때 고개를 끄덕이에요 (👉끄덕이세요). 그리고 동의를 하지 않을/안 할 때 (👉only 않을 때 is correct) 고개를 흔들어요. 생각은(👉생각이) 같으면 끄덕이면 돼요, 달라면(👉다르면) 흔들어도 돼요. 3. 머리를 잘라서 빗고 모자를 썼어요. (I guess…you meant you combed and put on a hat after getting your hair cut. If yes, it's more natural to say 👉머리를 자르고 나서 머리를 빗고 모자를 썼어요.) 6. 이슬비가 와서 제 친구가 모자나(👉모자랑/모자하고) 우산을 쓰고 나갔어요. 7. 저는 어제 제 긴 곱슬머리를 자르러 미용실에 갔어요. 지금은 짧은 생머리예요. (It's good, but you can make it more clear. For example, 👉지금은 짧은 생머리가 됐어요./지금은 짧은 생머리로 바뀌었어요- Careful. Many Korean people pronounce it as 바꼈어요.) 8. 미나 씨는 머리를 감고 나서 빗어요. 머리카락이/ 머리가 마르면, 장발을 묶을 거예요/ 것입니다. (It's good, but it's better to say 👉미나씨는 머리를 감고 나서 머리를 빗어요. 머리가 마르면 긴 머리를 묶을 거예요). 11. 저는 심각한 부상일 때 (👉부상을 당할 때, but 부상을 당하다 is quite formal, it doesn't match with the sentence endings. So it's more natural to say 👉심하게 다칠 때) 많이 울어요. 그 슬픈 영화는 아저씨를 울게 했어요. (It's good, but you can make it more clear. 👉울게 만들었어요.) 12. 따듯한 물, 찬 물로 세수해요? (👉따뜻한 물 아니면 찬물로 세수해요/세수하세요?) 찬 물보다 따듯한 물로 세수하는 것은 (It's grammatically correct, but it doesn't sound natural in everyday conversations. So you can change it to 👉게) 기분이 상쾌하고 시원해요. 13. 좋아하는 사람을 보는 것은(👉 볼 때/보면) 얼굴이 빨개져요./좋아하는 사람을 보면 얼굴이 빨개져요. 너무 비행기를 태우는 것은 (👉태울 때/태우면) 얼굴이 빨개져요./ 네가 비행기 태울 때마다 부끄러워. (Be aware. 비행기를 태우다 is slightly old-fashioned. Alternatives can be 추켜세우다, 칭찬하다, 너무 칭찬하다) This is really a good way to practice Korean!! 😀 Hope that helps.

    • @justlearnkorean
      @justlearnkorean 6 дней назад

      Well, it's difficult to answer because it depends on your goals and interests. If you've been learning Korean for 2 years, I assume your Korean might be at an upper beginner level. Even if you've taken a year off, you will catch up quickly when you start again. 😀 I might sound too cliché, but from my experience, constant exposure and active learning are super important. To achieve this, I recommend two things: First, think about your goal. What do you want to achieve? Your goal can be understanding films and dramas, having conversational skills, passing a certain level of a Korean language test, or developing specific skills like listening or speaking. Whatever your goal is, I think you should focus on listening skills first by listening a lot and learning vocabulary and grammar. Second, find study materials you enjoy. You might like Korean learning books, storybooks, RUclips videos, dramas, or K-pop. Use any of them, but find something you can stick to for a long time. I failed many times, especially when using materials I didn't enjoy or found too difficult. So, choose something interesting and easy for you. Check out these videos, which are about study plan etc. ruclips.net/video/RYf7R5KziF0/видео.html ruclips.net/video/Sd7AEOrUk_k/видео.html ruclips.net/video/yM4rNt7fwsI/видео.html ruclips.net/video/KnzuOXTiyCM/видео.html If you have more questions, feel free to let me know. For 돕다 at 11:50 you have 도“울” is this correct? Why is this different to “을“ for all the other verbs.

    • @justlearnkorean

      Great question! 😀돕다 is an irregular verb with some interesting rules. Verbs that end in ㅂ before 다 change to 울 in the future tense. I can't think of any other verbs now. Let me explain with some adjectives. For example, 춥다 - 추울 거야, 귀엽다 - 귀여울 거야. This pattern applies to other tenses too. In the present tense: 돕다 - 도와, 춥다 - 추워, 귀엽다 - 귀여워. In the past tense: 돕다 - 도왔어, 춥다 - 추웠어, 귀엽다 - 귀여웠어. Do you see what they all have in common? Hope that helps. 😉

      @@Shadowthevampire In this situation, you can use 감사합니다, 감사해요, or 고마워요. But the level of politeness is different.😀 니다 is actually a very formal version. But 감사합니다 is an exception. 감사합니다 is super commonly used in both formal and informal settings and can be used almost anytime. Even though 감사해요 and 고마워요 end in 요, which makes sentences sound polite, they are considered casual. That's why they are only used in very limited situations, for example, 1) to a work colleague who are close and of a similar age group 2) to someone who is much much younger to you But if you are not sure when to use 감사해요 and 고마워요, just use 감사합니다. You will never make a mistake with it. Hope that helps. 😉

    Today, I’d like to recommend a tool for language learning. It’s called Immersive Translate, and it’s a free browser extension that supports over 100+ languages. With such a wide scope, you’ll, of course, have no trouble finding your target language. I personally use it to generate subtitles to my RUclips and Netflix, and this has been a great way for me to become immersed in my target language, which is Vietnamese.

    안녕하세요! I would like to sign up for your patreon. May I ask, you mentioned access to downloadable pdfs once we upgrade our membership. Does it mean everything you taught will be in the pdfs, not just exercises? Let's say in your video about 45 korean contractions, will there be a pdf that has all the words for us to review?

    • @justlearnkorean
      @justlearnkorean 26 дней назад

      안녕하세요. 😀 The length and content of the PDFs vary depending on the videos because I've changed them over time. For the first 80 videos or so, the PDFs are about 5-8 pages long. But for videos from around the 81st to the latest ones, they’re more like 8-12 pages. And regarding the video about 45 Korean contractions. All the words and example sentences in the videos are in the PDFs. But be aware!! The content in the PDFs is not always identical to the videos. Sometimes a few words are missing from the PDFs, and other stuff is included instead. Other times, all the words are there, but the example sentences might be different. Hope this answers to your question. 😀

    안녕하세요 선생님. I would like to ask the difference between 깔끔하다 and 단정하다. They both mean neat and can they only be used for people or can also be used with things? Are they interchangeable? Also, is it natural to use them when I describe someone/ something or is there other way? Another thing is 활발하다 vs. 적극적이다. They both mean active. Are they interchangeable? Lastly, 긴장하다, 걱정하다, 떨리다 and 불안하다. Do they mean nervous and worry? Is there a word 긴장해지다? If there is, is it interchangeable with 긴장되다? What is the natural way to say I am nervous or I feel nervous? 정말 감사합니다. 건강하세요 선생님.

    • @justlearnkorean
      @justlearnkorean 27 дней назад

      안녕하세요~ 😀 깔끔하다 and 단정하다 both can mean neat, but they have different nuances and usages. 깔끔하다 can be used to describe both people, things and even flavour. For example, a person can have a 깔끔한 appearance (neat appearance), a room can be 깔끔하다 (neat/tidy) and a soup can taste 깔끔하다 (fresh/clean). It often conveys a sense of being well-organized and free of clutter. Whereas, 단정하다 is often used to describe someone's appearance or demeanor. It implies being well-groomed and appropriately dressed. And it is more commonly used for people. For example, you can say someone has a 단정한 모습 (neat/proper appearance). So, these words are not completely interchangeable (just partially interchangeable) because 깔끔하다 emphasizes cleanliness and tidiness, while 단정하다 emphasizes a proper and well-groomed appearance. 활발하다 and 적극적이다 both mean active, but with different connotations. 활발하다 refers to general liveliness or energy and it is often used to describe someone’s personality. It implies being energetic, sociable, and lively. On the other hand, 적극적이다 refers to being proactive and taking the initiative. so it's used when talking about someone's attitude towards something. So, they are not interchangeable. For example, 그는 매우 활발한 성격을 가지고 있다. (He has a very lively personality.) 그녀는 일에 대해 적극적이다. (She is proactive about her work.) 긴장하다, 떨리다, 불안하다 are quite similar, but 걱정하다 is different. 긴장하다 : to be tense or nervous 떨리다 : to tremble or shake (often due to nervousness) 불안하다 : to feel uneasy or anxious 걱정하다 : to worry about something As you can see the meanings, they are slightly different expressing different levels of nervousness. There is not word 긴장해지다, 긴장되다 is correct. So the natural way to say I am nervous or I feel nervous would be 긴장되다 and 떨리다. 긴장돼요(formal) /떨려요(colloquail). 내일 면접이 있어서 좀 긴장돼요. 오늘 시험 있는데 좀 떨리네요. FYI, 긴장되다VS 긴장하다 As you know, 되다 implies passiveness of the word. So 긴장되다 is a passive verb. It describes a state of being nervous or tense. It focuses on the state or condition of being nervous, often due to external factors. 매리는 중요한 발표를 앞두고 긴장됐다. (Mary got nervous before the important presentation.) 긴장하다 is an active verb. it describes the act of becoming nervous or feeling tense. It is often used when the subject is actively experiencing or expressing nervousness. 피터는 연설을 하기 전에 긴장했다. (Peter was nervous before giving the speech.) 질문에 도움이 됐길 바래요. 😉

      @@justlearnkorean Many thanks 선생님 for all the helpful information. I just want to clarify since 깔끔하다 can be used for objects like room, is it interchangeable with 깨끗하다? Can I use 깨끗하다 with food? And can I also use 깔끔하다 with air like clean/ fresh air? Lastly, what is the difference between 접수를 받다 and 접수하다? Thank you in advance 선생님.

    • @justlearnkorean
      @justlearnkorean 26 дней назад

      @@user-tm3wj1ep3u 😀I would say….깔끔하다 and 깨끗하다 can't be interchangeable. Because they are used to imply different things. 깔끔하다 focuses on whether something is tidy and well-organized. So it's not used for air. 깨끗하다 focuses on whether something is clean (no dirt, no stain, no rubbish etc.) We don't usually use 깨끗하다 for food. I can only think of water. 물이 깨끗해요. 방은 깔끔하다 : it's not just clean and tidy but also things are well arranged etc. 방은 깨끗하다 : it's just clean, maybe becuase it's recently cleaned. 접수를 받다 : to receive an application, registration, or submission. Focuses on the act of receiving something from someone else. (only possible one way) 접수하다 : to accept or register something. So this word can be used either from the person who receives and deal with something or from the person who submit something. (possible both ways) 도움이 됐나요? 😀
